Hello, I'm Jeremy

A passionate structural engineer, researcher, and software developer from Vancouver, BC.

I am a structural engineer by training with a knack for software development, and usually find myself situated at the intersection between the two.

Currently, I specialize in the design of tall buildings built with reinforced concrete. I have worked on variety of projects in Metro Vancouver and San Diego region, including performance-based seismic design of several prominent highrise projects. I also contribute to building code development and guidelines. I am a self-taught programmer - I started with MATLAB in my masters thesis and worked my way up to modern tools including React, Next.js, C#, and Python. My primary passion project is Calcs.app, a collection of web-based structural engineering tools.

This blog is where I document my learnings, share thoughts, and explore the intersection of technology and design. I hope you find something useful here, and I would love to connect with fellow engineers, developers, and creators.
